1. Who we are

fscpracticetest.com ("we", "us") is an independent, unofficial practice tool for the California Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) test. It is not affiliated with the California Department of Justice. Contact: info@fscpracticetest.com.

2. What we collect

  • Email address, collected by Stripe at checkout and by us when you request an access code.
  • Purchase record: email, Stripe checkout session id, amount, and date.
  • Campaign and click identifiers saved with the purchase record: UTM tags, Google click IDs (gclid, gbraid, wbraid), and the Google Analytics client id.
  • Exam activity for purchasers: seen-question history and in-progress exam state.
  • Signed-in devices: a session record containing a truncated user-agent string and the sign-in and last-activity times. Our database stores no IP addresses.
  • Anonymous visitors: no account is needed, but the cookies listed below apply.
  • Server logs and error reports (through Sentry).

4. Google Analytics and advertising features

We use Google Analytics 4 and may enable Google Analytics Advertising features and link them to Google Ads.

First-party cookies (ours, such as fsc_attr) and third-party identifiers (Google's, such as _ga and _gcl_*) are used together to measure traffic, to see which ads lead to visits and purchases, and to measure ad performance.

To opt out:

Your browser settings can also block cookies. Blocking fsc_access will prevent you from signing in.

5. Payments

Stripe is our payment processor. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to checkout.

6. Other service providers

We use Resend (sends receipts and access codes), Railway (hosting and database), Sentry (error monitoring), and Google (analytics and ad measurement). Each receives only the information its function needs.

7. How we use information

To provide access, send receipts and access codes, prevent sharing and abuse, measure traffic and ad performance, and fix errors.

8. Retention

Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide access, handle disputes, and meet tax and accounting obligations. Exam session rows are removed when an exam finishes or is replaced.

9. Your choices

Email info@fscpracticetest.com to ask about, correct, or delete your data. You can also use the opt-out links in section 4.

10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Categories we collect: identifiers, commercial information (purchase records), internet or device activity, and inferences from analytics.
  • Purposes: as described in section 7.
  • We do not sell personal information for money.
  • If advertising features or remarketing are enabled, disclosing identifiers to Google for ad measurement and targeting may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. The opt-out routes in section 4 apply.
  • Your rights: to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Send requests to info@fscpracticetest.com.

11. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Questions: info@fscpracticetest.com. See also our Terms of Use and Refund Policy.
